Stock picks of the day

The market staged a smart rally but has cooled off quite a bit from an intra-day point of view and has ended the day mildly in negative territory. Banks, Consumer Durables, FMCG and Oil have ended positive in varying degrees while Capital Goods, Pharma, IT, Auto, Metals and PSU's have ended in negative territory. Volume registered a noticeable increase (read as turnover) while the undertone seemed mixed.

Sensex (Daily)

Last Close - 10802 | Support - 10800, 10740 | Resistance - 10900, 11000

Trading Range - The Sensex opened at 10797, moved up to an intra-day high of 10896, declined to an intra-day low of 10761 and closed at 10802.

Review/Outlook - The Sensex has once again created history to post a fresh all time high but has slipped from an intra-day point of view to lose sizeable ground and has just about ended in negative territory on higher volume. The Sensex is getting a wee bit heavy at current levels and while individual stocks could outperform, the Sensex is expected to remain under some amount of pressure today.
