Air services in the country could be affected on September 29 with airport employees going on a strike to protest the government's move to "privatise" Delhi and Mumbai airports.

About 20,000 staffers of the Airports Authority of India all over the country belonging to engineering, communications, maintenance and ground handling, under the banner of Airports Authority Employees Joint Forum, would participate in the strike at 124 airports, according to Forum leaders.

The Forum on Thursday served the strike notice to the AAI management protesting against the privatisation move, they said.
