HCL Technologies' infrastructure management subsidiary, HCL Comnet, on Wednesday inaugurated a new facility for its remote infrastructure management business and indicated that in next 12 months it would hire another 1,500 people to keep pace with the growth.

The facility inaugurated on Wednesday by Communications and IT Minister Dayanidhi Maran can house 1,500 employees.

"We expect to fill up the capacity in the new facility in next one year," HCL Comnet chief operating officer Anant Gupta told PTI.

It is the fourth facility of the company for remote infrastructure management. It already has two facilities in Noida and one in Chennai.

The remote infrastructure management business of HCL is growing in excess of 80 per cent year-on-year. The infrastructure service business of the company now accounts for 10 per cent of the revenues.

Gupta said the company would continue to expand service delivery capacity to keep up with this growth.

The company is also looking to put additional capacity in the locations where it was already present and scouting for some new locations.

"We are looking at some new locations and expanding capacity at existing centres," he said.

The market for infrastructure outsourcing is around $80 to 150 billion of which 60 per cent can be offshored.
