Two-wheeler major TVS Motor Company Ltd on Wednesday announced the launch of two new 150 cc bikes before the end of this financial year and more investments into the R&D for development of new products.

TVS Motor is also aiming to sell 2,50,000 bikes during the three months of August to October, chairman and managing director of TVS Motor Company Venu Srinivasan told reporters on the sidelines of the company's AGM in Chennai.

On the new launches, he said the two 150 cc bikes would be completely different from each other.

"One 150 cc bike will be launched in December (this year) and another in March (2006) and it will be completely different in terms of styling and other features," he said.

The Chennai-headquartered TVS Motor also plans a slew of new launches this year, including a new 90 cc Scooty Pep model, which was aimed at "riders who want more power," Srinivasan said.

The company also will launch a Victor GX-125 model next month.

Commenting on the R&D initiatives, Srinivasan said TVS Motor was investing significantly in people and the styling studio facilities for its new products.

The R&D team was working on the company's products for the ASEAN markets, which would start production from Indonesia in the last quarter of next financial year (2006-07), he said.
