Casey vs Richard: How did YOU deal with school bullies?

Australian schoolboy Casey Haynes hit back at his tormentor Richard Gale after the latter tried to bully him in their school. How did you deal with bullying in school? Tell us about it!

It was a video that was supposed to make Richard Gale a hero. The Australian schoolkid picked on his mate Casey Haynes in the school corridor and began bullying him when Casey decided to hit back.

In the video alongside you see Haynes -- the large boy in a red t-shirt being bullied by Gale, a far smaller fellow in comparison.

Gale walks up to him, punches him on his face, steps back and tries to punch him again unsuccessfully. Then he steps back and starts bouncing like a professional boxer before mock punching Haynes.

Finally, Haynes loses it. He picks Richard Gale and slams him on the ground leaving his tormentor badly injured in his knees, hardly able to walk and scurrying for cover.

This 40-second video went viral making Casey Haynes an Internet hero and a face for all bullying victims.

Haynes claims that he's been bullied for years because of his weight issues and on that fateful day he quite simply snapped.

Many of us have been through school bullying -- we've been picked up on, hit on our heads, made to walk in public without clothes and what not. More often than not we quietly bore the insult and carried on. Sometimes though, just sometimes, like Casey Haynes, we hit back.

We're inviting you our readers to share with us your school and college bullying tales and how you dealt with it -- did you hit back like Casey Haynes or did you go to the authorities and parents or did you choose not say a word and carried on as if nothing happened?

Tell us if you were a school bullying victim too and how you went about dealing with it. Write in an email to getahead@rediff.co.in (subject line: 'Bullying tales') and share with us your story.
