PICS: Slinky, sexy beachwear and hotpants BURN the ramp

Vicky Donor actor Yami Gautam walked the ramp for Delhi-based designer Ranna Gill who showcased her debut collecton at the Lakme Fashion Week. Photographs by Dominic Xavier

Delhi-based designer Ranna Gill showcased her debut collection at the Lakme Fashion Week Winter 2013 on Day One.

Her line inspired by the beautiful romantic island of Mauritius was presented by Mauritius Tourism.

Gill's collection reflected her penchant for contemporary designs and panache.

Subtle and feminine, sometimes playful, each of the designs made for a perfect holiday-wear and mostly appealed to women who like details in their costumes.

The outfits were teamed with accessories that had intricate detailing.

As you can see from her collections, Gill has extensively used lace and tulle to create magic on fabrics like crepe, chiffon, georgette and silk.

Throughout the collection, there were splashes of swimwear in resort colours, multi hues of the island’s landscape, different shades of water, palms, sunny beaches and the dazzling sun as the resort wear line moved seamlessly from dawn to dusk.

Speaking of goddesses, actor and showstopper for the collection Yami Gautam looked absolutely gorgeous in a pristine white gown as she made an appearance to present the designer behind the divine collections.

Gautam’s gown with plunging neckline was accessorised with silver embroidery.
