IMAGES: Bikini bombshells, swimsuit stunners at Miami FW!

In the first of a two-part series we bring you the best runway offerings from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2014.

For five days in July each year, the city of Miami in the US plays host to one of the biggest international fashion events -- Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim.

Swimwear creations from some of the biggest names in the business like Beach Bunny, Luli Fama and BCBGeneration are showcased on the ramp, by bronzed catwalk queens strutting their stuff.

With the current edition winding down today (the dates for 2014 were July 18-22), here's a look at the best of runway images from Day One through Day Three.

We start off with a pink and blue number sporting a suspender design, from Colombian brand Agua Bendita.

This daring two-piece sports a wildlife themed print, beaded tassels and some serious skin -- definitely not for the faint-hearted!

Next we see a bikini with tie-up detailing and ruffled edges, showing off another animal print.

Brazilian label Poko Pano displayed rather posh swimwear that would look perfect on an exotic riviera holiday, like this classic plunging maillot in white.

Riveting red comes into focus with this strapless bikini, the briefs sporting beaded detailing on either side.

Poko Pano brings a dash of retro glamour to the runway with this high-waisted creation, set off by a chic chain belt at the waist.

In stark contrast to Poko Pano's sophisticated stunners, Spanish designer Dolores Cortes offered up head-turning swimsuits sure to make a statement, like this metallic studded string bikini, set off with matching wrist cuffs and a contrasting pair of floral bottoms.

Hot pink is the order of the day with this chain-linked creation.

This gorgeous mesh one-piece with applique florals was definitely one of Cortes' most memorable styles.

Aussie brand Suboo mixed sporty inspiration with geometric patterns, with rather cutting-edge results like this.

Strategically-placed white panels shield a model's modesty as she steps out in a wispy tank and bikini briefs.

An optical illusion print breathes life into this unusual cut-away.

Popular US label Beach Bunny's signature flirty vibe was apparent in their latest line -- get a load of this cheeky bikini sporting back pockets.

Metallics come to the fore once more with this electric blue-on-gold strapless design.

This hot monochrome monokini is set off with a zipper up the front and a tennis visor for an athletic feel.

Polka dots, bows and an overall retro look set off the latest collection from Nicolita, as is apparent from this cute tie-up.

Mint green makes its presence felt with this lovely vintage creation, featuring mesh panels and ruching on the bottom.

Canadian brand Aqua Di Lara showcased a fascinating array of monokinis at Fashion Week.

Colourblocking featured on a lot of the designs, like this two-tone buckled number.

Black and gold set off this rather dramatic and daring one-piece.

It was apparent from Mara Hoffman's line that she was inspired by desi motifs and all things Indian -- check out this ethnic print bikini and matching beach bag.

The models sported painted-on bindis and ethnic jewellery too, as well as long plaits in their hair.

Tribal prints in a mishmash of hues added vibrancy to the swimwear.

Brazilian lifestyle brand ViX Paula Hermanny's offerings were kept simple and striking, like this sexy white maillot.

Tantalising tangerine stands out on this bandeau number with its draped detailing.

Making a departure from solids was this graphic print triangle bikini in earthy tones.

And finally we come to the busy but beautiful stunners like this skintight kaleidoscopic swimwear from Brazilian label, CM Cia.Maritima.

The uniformity of this animal print cut-away is broken up with shards of pink and gold.

A billowing sheer beach robe adds to the sensuality of a matching two-piece worn underneath.
