Pakistani designer Ali Xeeshan made a girl in school uniform walk the ramp for his bridal show to protest against child marriage.
Last week, while the national media was busy giving you updates on Virat and Anushka's wedding, in a neighbouring state, a young designer spoke about a wedding of another kind.
Pakistan based Ali Xeeshan made a young girl in school uniform walk the ramp for his bridal show at the Bridal Couture Week held December 10.
The girl, dressed in a blue and white salwar kameez wore a maang tikka over her braided hair. She was also carrying a school bag.
The show, held in association with UN Women Pakistan, aimed to drive a strong message to stop and protest against child marriage.

'Do not let a little girl trade her school uniform for a bridal outfit,' Ali Xeeshan captioned this picture from the show.
'We all celebrate weddings and brides but forget that there is a sad reality around us regarding the same subject. Child marriage is a problem with unimaginable consequences. I will continue changing the meaning of fashion for the better. I hope you will too. You can start by signing this petition and raising your voice against child marriage,' he shared.

The 'Fashion with a Cause' show was done in collaboration with UN Women Pakistan which is finding new ways to promote gender equality and empower women.
Kudos to Ali Xeeshan for taking the lead and using fashion to share such a strong and positive message to the world.
