Tolungasana (Balance pose)

November 4, 2008

Sit in the classic lotus pose. Inhale. Place your hands on each knee, with the chosen mudra or hand gesture. Exhale and raise your knees off the floor, resting your body on your hips. Keep your eyes shut and stay in the pose for as long as is possible. Return your knees back to ground to finish the pose.

Benefits: All cross-legged postures improve leg health. Brain also receives improved blood flow. The slight pressure on abdomen and the urogenital system works on major glands involved with our sense of well-being and happiness.
