The festival of Raksha Bandhan is a time to put away everyday sibling rivalries and indulge in some good ol' fashioned family celebration. However, friendships sometimes take an uncertain turn when a close pal decides to take your relationship to the next level -- the brother-sister level.

Now this isn't all that uncommon, but sometimes it just might be that you were thinking in a different direction -- one that was more romantic. So what do you do when confronted with that little strand of glitter and gold?

Have you ever been in a situation where a friend wanted to make you her 'rakhi bhaiya' or or his 'rakhi sister'? How did you handle the situation? Did you draw up the courage to tell them how you felt or did you just go along, heart-broken?

Did your decision result in a relationship you now treasure? Or have you stopped talking to each other altogether?

Share your experiences, advice and anecdotes on the messageboard below!
