India would be aiming to become the first team to win the World Twenty20 title for a second time but they face a stiff challenge in the form of Sri Lanka in the final of the World T20 in Dhaka, on Sunday.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni also has a chance to create history as the first captain to win three World Cup titles. Australia's Ricky Ponting and West Indies' Clive Lloyd were the other two captains who have led the team to two World titles.

After sealing victory in the 2011 50-overs World Cup final in Mumbai, Dhoni led India to Champions Trophy glory in England two years later. They now stand just one match away from becoming the first country to hold three major limited overs title at the same time. He had also captained India to the inaugural World T20 title in 2007 in South Africa.

India has been in unstoppable form in this tournament so far, winning five straight matches including the semi-final against South Africa with an authoritative display.

Sri Lanka will be keen for revenge after being beaten by India in the final of the 2011 World Cup when Dhoni hit a match-winning six match to lift his team to the title, at the Wankhede stadium.

Sri Lanka will be looking to be third-time lucky when it comes to T20 World Cups, having lost in the final of the 2009 and 2012 tournament. This is their fifth ICC tournament final in seven years and they will certainly want to win it for veterans Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara, who will quit T20 Internationals after this tournament.
