The Board of Control for Cricket in India's steep hike in prize-money for domestic tournaments will also see junior and women cricketers gain substantially.
The winners of the C K Nayudu under-22 tournament will receive Rs 10 lakh, almost seven times more than the Rs 150,000 they got in 2004-05.
The losing finalists of the 2007-08 season will receive Rs 500,000 (75,000 earlier) while the semi-finalists, who did not receive anything previously, will get Rs 200,000 each.
The Cooch Behar (under-19) Trophy elite division winners and runners-up will get Rs 500,000 and 300,000 respectively. They pocketed Rs 200,000 and 100,000 earlier. The losing semi-finalists, who got nothing till 2004-05, will get Rs 100,000.
The Plate division winners, runners-up and losing semi-finalists, who drew a blank till 2004-05, will take away Rs 500,000, 300,000 and 100,000 respectively with retrospective effect.
Prize-money in the Vinoo Mankad (under-19), Vijay Merchant (under-17) and Polly Umrigar (under-15) tournaments too has been bolstered. All these figures are with retrospective effect, from the 2005-06 season, the BCCI said.
In women's cricket, which has been streamlined after being inducted last year, the Senior Inter-State one-day winners, runners-up and losing semi-finalists are to get Rs 300,000, 150,000 and 100,000 respectively.
The corresponding prize-money in senior one-day inter-zonals for winners and losing finalists is Rs 200,000 and 100,000.
The prize-money is Rs 400,000, 200,000 and 100,000 for the women's Inter-State two-day matches for the winners, runners-up and losing semi-finalists.
