India win toss; elect to bat

India captain Sourav Ganguly [Images] won the toss and elected to bat in the second Test against Pakistan on Wednesday.

There were two changes in the Pakistan team with opener Salman Butt [Images] being dropped in favour of all-rounder Shahid Afridi [Images]. The injured Rana Naved-ul-Hasan was replaced by left-arm seamer Mohammad Khalil.

India made the one change in the their playing XI, with off-spinner Harbhajan Singh [Images] coming in for left-arm seamer Zaheer Khan [Images].

The first match of the three-Test series in Mohali last week ended in a draw.
