Security tightened around Motera ground

Security has been tightened in and around the Motera cricket ground in Ahmedabad [Images] following report of threats to damage the pitch where India is scheduled to play Pakistan in a one-day international in April.

However, Gujarat Cricket Association President Narhari Amin said that he has not received any threat call but had only heard about it.

Pakistan refused to play a Test match at the venue citing security reasons and agreed to play an additional one-day match in the city after much persuasion from the BCCI.

The Motera ground is scheduled to host the fourth of the six-match one-day international series on April 12.
