Board of Control for Cricket in India chief Sharad Pawar [Images] will take over as president of the Asian Cricket Council on January 4, 2006.

Pawar was made the ACC president-designate after Jagmohan Dalmiya stepped down after the recent BCCI elections.

"Pawar will officially take over on January 4, 2006 at a ACC meet to be held in Delhi," BCCI's executive-in-charge Ratnakar Shetty said in New Delhi on Thursday.
