Inflight shower

Dubai-based Emirates, which began operations in 1985 and now flies 3,000 flights to 130 cities in 77 countries, not only offers first-class passengers the facility to shower midflight, but also an attendant. The drawbacks are that travellers need to book the shower spa and they cannot stay inside more than five minutes.

Grooming facility

The United Kingdom-based Virgin Atlantic, which began operations in 1984 and now carries 5.4 million passengers to 34 destinations around the world, offers free or discounted shave, back massage, haircuts and styling to business- and first-class passengers at selected airports.

Airlines, such as Singapore, Lufthansa, Emirates and Japan Airlines, are offering actual beds with Givenchy linens and ultra-comfortable mattresses to their premium passengers.
