Beware of fake job offers in the IT industry!

The IT and ITeS Industry Association of Andhra Pradesh (ITsAP) has cautioned the youth to be vigilant over fake job offers in these sectors.

ITsAP said that students and other job seekers in IT & ITeS sectors are receiving fake mails and other communications offering jobs and asking them to make payments from certain individuals and agencies in the name of IT companies.

"In view of the huge demand for employment in IT & ITeS sectors, ITsAP strongly advises the student community and others, looking for jobs, to verify the accuracy of each and every such communication through authorised representative of the company, before proceeding to the next steps in the employment process," ITsAP said in a statement.

The organisation has advised that it is always advisable to meet the authorised representatives of the company in person in the respective office premises.

"It is a safe practice to insist on a proper printed copy of the appointment letter, duly-signed by the authorised signatory on the company letter-head and not just an offer letter and any non-payment of salary should be viewed with suspicion and brought to the notice of the authorities.

It can be brought to our notice if it is our registered member company," ITsAP further said. Before an individual enters into a financial commitment in the form of bonds/deposits/other arrangements, they should make sure of the legal validity of all such transactions, the IT body said.
