Tata Motors drives in Gravitas as the new Safari

The new Safari will be built on Tata Motors’ Impact 2.0 design language with OMEGARC, an architecture derived from the D8 platform of the Land Rover, which is the gold standard of SUVs worldwide, reports Rajesh Karkera.

2021 is going to be a year of surprises, especially for those of us who love cars, with almost 70 new cars scheduled to come in this year.

And to start it with a bang, Tata Motors on Wednesday announced that that it is bringing back its iconic SUV, Tata Safari, in the guise of its flagship 7-seater SUV the Gravitas, which is a longer and bigger version of the Harrier.

Now Tata Motors didn't just announce the launch straight away. They first released this video of the Tata Safari which tells us how much we miss it.

And then, on January 6, 2021, they announced the Legend was coming back in a few days, in another video.

Announcing the formal branding of its forthcoming SUV as the Tata Safari, Shailesh Chandra, president, passenger vehicles business unit (PVBU), Tata Motors, said, "The Safari, an iconic brand with a strong following, has been the most sought after SUV on Indian roads for well over two decades. In its new avatar, the Safari will appeal to the socially active, fun-loving customers who seek out unique experiences and adventure. Its design, performance, versatility, features, and long-lasting build quality, reinforce the SUV lifestyle to provide unending pleasure. We are confident that the launch of the Safari will once again re-energise the market, amplifying its cult status."
