At a time when government wants to give a push to the infrastructure sector, industrialist Anil Ambani on Wednesday called on Planning Commission Deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia.

Anil Ambani has interests in power, telecom and other infrastructure sectors.

G P Goenka, who runs the Kolkata-based Duncan Group, also met Ahluwalia today.

Earlier in the week, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani had also met Ahluwalia.

Vodafone India chairman Analjit Singh and chairman of UB Group Vijay Mallya had also met Ahluwalia last week.

Following the exit of Pranab Mukherjee, who is contesting Presidential election, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has taken charge of the finance portfolio.

Ahluwalia, who had played a key role in the economic reforms initiated by Singh in 1991, is considered close to the Prime Minister.
