Power Grid is supposed to set up two (2) high power transmission towers costing over Rs 16,500 crore (Rs 165 billion) for evacuating a bulk of the 16,000 Mws of electricity generated within the state by 2011-12 to western and northern India.
The private STP is being set up by the JSS Group at Infocity in Chandaka, Bhubaneswar.
A new railway siding at an investment of Rs 40 crore (Rs 400 million) is also being set up by the sponge iron units on 50-acres of land around the steel city. The siding is expected to come up with the revival of the Kuarmunda station by mid 2008.
