India's electricity regulator, the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, has proposed a new tariff scheme for power generated from hydroelectric stations, whereby the risks associated with changes in water flow would now be borne by producers. The Golden Chariot, Karnataka's first luxury tourist train, has made its debut on the tracks. The train has 11 plush and fully air-conditioned passenger cars, two restaurant cars, a bar cum conference hall, a gym car and a staff car. It was made with an investment of Rs 50 crore. Starting from Bangalore, the train's trip will end at Goa, where it's linked with the Deccan Odyssey. Its fare for one person for 7-day journey is $3395 (about Rs 1.36 lakhs) during the peak season.

Tucked away in the heart of Chandni Chowk in Delhi is Anuj Rajpal's store of rare records. The New Gramophone House that was relocated after partition from Lahore to Delhi, houses over 200,000 records. Ranging from Rs 30 to Rs 10,000, the records on sale are a rare collection of Bollywood and Hindustani classical as well as Bengali, English, Punjabi, Tamil, Telegu and other records. But with the dwindling number of rare records, Rajpal is unsure about the future of his store.
