Lord Paul, founder of the UK-based Caparo Group of industries, had been taken ill and hospitalised recently, where he passed away surrounded by members of his family.
The body of Jyothirmai, a medical student, who was killed in Birmingham in London, was brought to Hyderabad on Saturday. Jyothirmai's family friends, including former mayor Jandhyala Shankar, former legislator Adusumilli Jayaprakash and Deputy Mayor Anne Prasanna received the body. Jyothirmai, who was pursuing a masters course in public health in London, was killed by alleged burglars in her rented house in Birmingham on May 6.
A philanthropist, Lord Paul has made large donations to many organisations, including a million pound to save the London Zoo from closure. He has also worked to develop strong Indo-British relations.
He has been appointed a member of the Science and Technology Select Committee of the House of Lords.
He said there is no decline in Modi's 'determination'.
