India had a mixed day at the US $50,000 ATP Challenger event in Tallahassee as Prakash Amritraj advanced to the second round but Somdev Devvarman crashed out of the tournament. Amritraj had to dig deep into his reserves to beat local wild card Michael McClune 6-7 (3), 7-5, 7-6 (3) in his opening round. Somdev made an early exit after losing his first round match 3-6, 3-6 against Australian Marinkc Matosevic.

The Indian Davis Cupper made it to the quarter-finals in the singles and doubles. In singles he beat Ivan Miranda of Peru 6-4, 6-3, while in doubles he teamed with Alex Kuznetsov to defeat Colin Ebelthite of Australia and Peter Polansky of Canada 6-2, 4-6, 11-9.
