In a developing country like India, availability of higher education ought not to be confined to the well off as a vast section of the population in India belong to lower middle and lower income groups without much social security. In some region where ethnic minorities, people living in rural areas and poor face discrimination and exclusion, girls often suffer a multiple disadvantage because of their gender.
