During the visit organised by the UK India Business Council and UK Trade and Investment, 129 delegates, including business leaders Vittorio Colao, CEO, Vodafone; Lord Meghnad Desai, noted NRI economist; Terry Hill, chairman, Arup; Evelyn de Rothschild and Gerry Grimstone of Standard Life will visit New Delhi, Pune and Mumbai.
India and the United Kingdom have agreed on the text of a landmark civil nuclear agreement and a formal pact may be signed within a week, Britain's Business Secretary Lord Peter Mandelson announced on Thursday. "The civil nuclear deal text has been agreed to and it will be signed soon, may be within a week after ministerial approvals," Lord Mandelson told a joint press conference with Commerce Minister Anand Sharma.
Business Secretary Lord Peter Mandelson made the announcement on a visit to the Filton Bristol, plant of Airbus UK which will be making the wings for the new plane. The government assistance will create and sustain more than 1,200 jobs at Filton and at Airbus UK's Broughton plant in north Wales.
