Jyoti 'Jay' Chaudhuri, general counsel and senior adviser to the state treasurer of the US state of North Carolina, was elected chairman of the board of the Council of Institutional Investors, last month.

Jay Chaudhuri, general counsel and senior policy adviser to North Carolina State Treasurer Janet Cowell, has been honoured with a top award by the National Association of Attorneys General for his efforts in protecting children from online predators on social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook. Chaudhuri received the NAAG 2009 Marvin Award at its annual convention in Colorado Springs.
None of the more than half a dozen new Indian Americans candidates, many of whom caught national attention by giving tough fight to their opponents and out raising them in the fund raisers, could make it to the House of Representatives.
