The Nagaland government has decided not to provide police escorts to any Naga underground leader anymore, unless specifically directed by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Nagaland government has warned underground groups not to undermine its authority and asked them to stop on-going factional killings as they jeopardized public peace. Expressing concern over spurt in factional violence, particularly in and around Dimapur, Home Minister Imkong Imchen said the groups should not provoke the government to directly execute its authority in the interest of public peace.
Higher and Technical Education Minister T Chuba and PCC vice-president Imkong Imchen tendered their resignations to Chief Minister S C Jamir.
