Miles away from their families, jawans of the Border Security Force celebrated Lohri by dancing to the tunes of drums and guitars around bonfires and exchanging sweets with locals at the Forward Border Out Post in Suchetgarh, Jammu. Despite the high degree of alertness to block infiltration bids from across the border, jawans and officers of BSF immersed themselves in the Lohri celebrations at the Octerio-Suchetgarh forward border post along the International Border.
The Border Security Force troops opened fire when they noticed some persons moving suspiciously along the Indo-Pak border in Ramgarh of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
In the backdrop of the night-long firing by Pakistan Rangers targeting civilians areas and BoPs, BSF troops and the Rangers on Friday held a commandant-level flag-meeting along International Border in Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir, during which they impressed upon each other to respect the ceasefire.
