SIT chief RK Raghavan said that his team had arrested Erda in connection with the 2002 Gulbarg society riot case. Erda was posted at Meghaninagar police station during the 2002 riots and was incharge of the Gulbarg case, SIT member, Joint Commissioner of Police, Ashish Bhatia said
The prosecution is likely to seek capital punishment for the 11 convicted who were charged with murder, while the lawyer of victims may seek life imprisonment for them.
Of the 24 convicted, 11 have been convicted for murder and 13 for other charges.
