Taking exception to Calcutta high court's order refusing to give notice to Mamata Banerjee on the appointment of Dr Sukumar Mukherjee as chief health advisor to the state goverment, the Supreme Court on Friday issued notice to the West Bengal chief minister
The Supreme Court on Thursday awarded a whopping Rs 5.96 crore as compensation to be paid by Kolkata-based Advanced Medical and Research Institute Hospital and three doctors to a United States-based Indian-origin doctor for medical negligence which led to the death of his wife in 1998.
'We are very happy with his progress. He has recovered fast. From our side, we have no problem if he plays the November 12 match at Bangalore,' Dr Sukumar Mukherjee said.
