Nationalist Congress Party leader Jayant Patil on Tuesday became the new Home Minister of Maharashtra.Dilip Valse Patil, also of NCP, has been given Finance Ministry, sources said.The Home portfolio was earlier held by NCP's R R Patil, who along with Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, resigned following the terror attacks in the city.
The Maharashtra government on Monday authorised a three-member secretary level panel to discuss issues relating to starting the defunct Dabhol Power project with the central government.
Transmission and distribution losses had resulted in losses of around Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500 crore (Rs 20 -25 billion) to the Maharashtra State Electricity Board, Energy Minister Dilip Valse-Patil informed the state assembly on Wednesday.
