The study comes on the heels of US President Barack Obama ending tax incentives to US companies that move jobs outside the country.
The report 'How America Benefits from Economic Engagement with India,' was released by influential Congressman Jim McDermott. India's deputy ambassador to the US Arun Singh was also present on the occasion.
The United States has said enhancing economic ties with India will create thousands of jobs for Americans, as against the general impression about the US jobs being outsourced to the South Asian country.
United States Congressman Jim McDermott has introduced major new legislation to, in his words, "unite the two great democracies of India and the United States together in development of new and renewable energy supplies". The legislation seeks to establish a Congressional Commission on Renewable Power Technology Commerce with India to study methods for improving and promoting bilateral renewable energy cooperation with India.
"India is one of our most important allies and creating an exchange program between members of the US Congress and Representatives of India's Parliament will only deepen our ties and lead to greater understanding between our countries," McDermott said.
