The legal wrangling over what was claimed to be 'exploitation' of cricket legend Sir Donald Bradman's name for selling cookies is finally over with the dispute settled out of court.
Cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar's tryst with Australia and "The Don" continues as the legendary batsman will be inducted as a Bradman Honouree along with former Test captain Steve Waugh at a gala dinner in Sydney on October 29.
Australia batsman Simon Katich on Friday sought to defend his underfire captain Ricky Ponting, saying the "players let him down" in the lost Ashes series against England by failing to perform at crucial moments. Katich, who scored 122 in the first Test and aggregated 341 runs in the entire series, said he was disappointed that he could not contribute with bigger totals more often.
In February next year, Australia are scheduled to travel to India for a four-Test series and former captain Adam Gilchrist said going by their recent outing the Aussies need to work hard on identifying big moments where they lack consistency. The once formidable Australian team, has recently lost fourth Test on the trot after being overwhelmed by South Africa at home. And Gilchrist feels more often than not the Aussies are letting their opponents bounce back into a game.
Sachin Tendulkar added yet another feather to his cap on Wednesday when he was inducted as one of the latest honourees to the Bradman Foundation. Former Australia captain Steve Waugh was the other cricketer to enter the Bradman Hall of Fame alongside Tendulkar during a gala dinner, at the historic Sydney Cricket Ground.
Sachin Tendulkar was invited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be part of his official delegation for the Australia tour later this month, but the cricket icon has expressed his inability to make the trip due to prior commitments.
