The interrogation of Pune blast suspect Abdul Sammad Bhatkal is providing investigating agencies crucial clues about his brother and key Indian Mujahideen operative Yaseen Bhatkal.Sammad, who was arrested at the Mangalore airport on Monday, is being interrogated by teams from the Intelligence Bureau and the Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad.Yaseen Bhatkal was at the forefront of orchestrating the Pune blast at German bakery on February 13.
Union home minister P Chidambaram has complimented the Anti Terrorism Squad of Maharashtra, the Pune police and the central agencies for the arrest of Abdul Sammad Bhatkal, the suspected mastermind behind the Pune bomb blast.
Bhatkal, wanted for his alleged role in the 26/11 attack and the Pune blasts, was arrested at the Mangalore airport. According to the initial investigations, Bhatkal never planned to slip into India this time. Thinking that the security officials will be lax in Mangalore especially after a tragedy of such magnitude, Bhatkal pre-poned his visit and tried slipping out easily. But that was not to be.

Abdul Sammad Bhatkal, who was picked up from the Mangalore airport by the Mumbai Anti-Terrorist Squad for his alleged role in an arms case and also the Pune blasts case, was granted bail by the Mumbai sessions court on Tuesday.
