The International Tennis Federation hosted the ITF World Champions Dinner in Paris on Tuesday and World No 1s Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams were honoured at the annual function.

Both tennis stars took to the internet to share their joy with fans.

Posting pictures of the event, Djokovic wrote on Facebook, "Tonight was the annual Champion dinner organized by ITF where many people gather to celebrate tennis and its champions. For the second year in a row I was fortunate to be the one taking the trophy home.

Thank you ITF, i'll keep working hard to make my repetitive appearances here year after year. I enjoy collecting beautiful trophies."

Serena tweeted pictures of herself with the Bryan twins – Bob and Mike – and with Djokovic.

Doubles champions Bob and Mike Bryan (USA), and Italian doubles team Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci were the Other winners of the night.

It was also memorable night for Junior champions Filip Peliwo (CAN) and Taylor Townsend (USA), as well as wheelchair champions Stephane Houdet (FRA) and Esther Vergeer (NED). Vergeer collected her trophy for a record 13th year.

The All England Lawn Tennis Club was presented with the ITF's highest accolade, the Philippe Chatrier Award.
