In-form Dane Caroline Wozniacki upset top seed Elena Dementieva 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 on Saturday to reach the final of the Family Circle Cup where she will meet another teenager in German Sabine Lisicki.

The fifth-seeded Wozniacki, who also beat the Russian in the recent Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, looked set for a comfortable win as she went 5-2 up in the second.

Dementieva, ranked third in the world, saved three match points to take the contest into a hard-fought third set, but Wozniacki was not to be denied.

"It felt so good," the 18-year-old told reporters of her match-winning shot, a forehand winner down the line.

"I only had that shot to win the point, because she was covering the whole net. I only had this much space to put it in, and when I saw it go through, I just knew it was going to go in."

Wozniacki, who is of Polish parentage, won the opening tournament on clay at Ponte Vedra last week.

Dementieva said she was disappointed with her play in the first set.

"It took a lot of energy to come back in the second set," she said. "No matter what the score was, I knew I just had to keep fighting ... She wasn't missing at all. Credit to her, she's in great shape."

Sixteenth seed Lisicki had an easier path to the final, beating sixth seed Marion Bartoli of France 6-3, 6-1.

The 19-year-old German has never won a WTA Tour event and reached just one previous final -- losing to Romanian Sorana Cirstea in Tashkent last year.

"I played Marion at Wimbledon last year -- it was on centre court, so I was too nervous," Lisicki said. "I really wanted to avoid that today. I started playing well, got in the lead and just wrapped it up."

Lisicki and Wozniacki have met just once previously, with the Dane winning 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the third round of the Australian Open last year.

"I think we've both gotten much better," Lisicki said. "It will be a good final."
