Formula One's new crop of cars have been unveiled.

Ten of the 11 teams - all but Lotus - are in Jerez in southern Spain for the test but tail-enders Marussia and Caterham hit early problems.

Marussia's car was still on it's way to Jerez after being delayed at the factory by what team principal John Booth called a "small but frustrating teething problem".

Malaysian-owned Caterham delayed their car presentation due, according to their Twitter feed, to "some last minute issues bolting it together".

Some of the new cars have been startling in appearance, with eye-catching protruding 'noses' to meet new regulations dictated by safety considerations as Formula One has ditched the ear-splitting 2.4 litre V8 engines for a new turbocharged 1.6 litre V6 with complex energy recovery systems and more emphasis on fuel economy.

Check out the cars:

Ferrari

With the new car, Ferrari will hope will end a six-year championship drought.

The new F14-T features a dramatically shaped front, with bodywork swooping down to a much wider nose tip than has been seen on the other new cars.

The car will be driven by former world champions Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen, arguably the strongest driver line-up on the grid.

Reigning World champions Red Bull were among several teams to reveal their new car.

The Renault-powered RB10 is the machine in which Sebastian Vettel will bid for a fifth successive drivers’ title, alongside new team mate Daniel Ricciardo, as Red Bull also aim for a fifth consecutive constructors’ crown.

The Vettel-Red Bull combination dominated last year, winning 13 Grand Prix, including the last nine rounds of the season.

Australian Ricciardo joins from sister squad Toro Rosso, replacing compatriot Mark Webber.

The RB10 is the tenth car to be built for F1 competition by Red Bull and is again penned by Adrian Newey.

New Force India seen in the flesh for first time.

The VJM07 was officially unveiled on Tuesday and the Mercedes-powered machine, which was shaken down during a promotional run at Silverstone in the UK last week, features one of the most unusual looking 2014 nose designs yet, with a long proboscis-like section at the end.

Mercedes GP

Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg revealed the 2014 Mercedes - the W05 - in the Jerez pitlane ahead of the first pre-season test.

As a manufacturer-backed team, the Silver Arrows are expected to be one of the title favourites this year as the new regulations place a greater emphasis on the power unit meaning building everything 'in-house' should prove to be an advantage.

The car boasts a sloping nose similar to Ferrari's and the similarly newly-unveiled Red Bull rather than the 'anteater version' seen on many of the other 2014 challengers.
