World No 2 Serena Williams has announced her withdrawal from next week’s WTA Championships in Singapore.
In a video posted on the WTA Facebook page, the 22-time Grand Slam champion said: “It’s been a really tough year for me, dealing with these shoulder injuries.
“I only have wonderful memories of playing in Singapore and I will really miss my fans.
“I want to wish everyone a great time and I hope it will be an amazing tournament -- it always is.”
Here’s hoping the champion is refreshed on her comeback in the new year!
