Trezeguet, top scorer for Juve in their Serie A title-winning season last term, had been sidelined by a knee injury.
But after a 58-minute run-out in the Italian Cup last week, he made his return to top class action at a freezing Delle Alpi stadium and headed home from close range after an Alessandro Del Piero corner.
"I'm delighted because I am back and my knee held up fine, there were no problems with it. Of course it was great to get a goal so early," said the former Monaco striker.
"After four games without a win we needed that victory and that was the important thing tonight -- we got the result and we gave a good performance," said the Frenchman.
Juve's victory ended a run of two draws and then a defeat to Brescia in Serie A as well as the 2-2 away draw to Deportivo Coruna in the first match of the Champions League second phase.

Juventus coach Marcello Lippi was also pleased to see his main targetman reunited with Alessandro Del Piero in attack.
"Trezeguet is back and we are all very
"We had 25 players available for this game and that is the first time this season I have been able to choose from the full roster," said Lippi.
After Trezeguet's opener, defender Paolo Montero added the second in the 34th minute before a spectacular strike from Alessio Tacchinardi and an Alessandro Del Piero penalty completed a comfortable win.
"It was good for us to get an early goal and then to double the lead half an hour later.
"Basel showed all the good things we had seen from them against Liverpool, Valencia and Manchester United so far this season but it was obviously difficult for them after that second goal," said Lippi.
Basel coach Christian Gross agreed: "It is hard to play against a team like Juventus but it is much harder when you concede a goal after three minutes -- that made things difficult for us.
"Juventus were more effective than us. We have to be like them -- to take advantage of our chances and not just to play well," said the former Tottenham manager.
Gross admitted he would need to work on making his side tighter defensively: "We probably focused too much on attack and we left too much space at the back tonight."
