The Indian Hockey Federation says it will leave no stone unturned to get injured hockey star Jugraj Singh back on the field.

"We will be asking medical boards of the International Hockey Federation as well as the International Olympic Committee to recommend names of the world's best physiotherapists who can take charge of Jugraj," IHF sources said on Monday.

"With the Sports Ministry already announcing it will bear all his medical expenses, which also includes paying the physiotherapist, we will be giving him the best person in the business."

Though the doctors treating the penalty-corner specialist in a Ludhiana hospital are not sure how long will he take to resume action, IHF sources said the federation is in touch with the hospital authorities and expects the 20-year old player to be out of hospital within the next few weeks.

"He is making a fast progress and we hope he will recover completely from the injuries within two to three weeks.

"We are collecting details about his treatment and by the time he is discharged we would have finalised the name of the expert who will be treating him," the sources said.

The sources said though the IHF has received some offers from doctors outside India, in most likelihood Jugraj will be sent either to Australia or the United States for physiotherapy.

"A non-resident Indian doctor in Germany has come forward to help Jugraj. But we don't want to send him to this European country as language would be a barrier in his treatment."

Meanwhile, hospital sources in Ludhiana said Jugraj is on the path of recovery and completely out of danger.

"His hemoglobin level is normal and he is responding well to the treatment," said one of the doctors attending on the hockey international.

Jugraj's right elbow, which had multiple fractures, had been properly screwed while the pelvic bone had also been put in position, doctors attending to the injured player said.

Jugraj, a key member of the Indian team, met with an accident last week when he crashed his car into an electric pole while returning home after having dinner with his friends at a local restaurant.

The player will miss the Asia Cup, which is scheduled to begin in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, later this month.

The IHF, though has already announced the probables for the Asia Cup, but is yet to name a substitute for Jugraj, who was one of the three penalty-corner experts in the team.

The two others are former captain Dilip Tirkey and Baljit Singh Dhillon.
