Captain and Nigerian import Mac Pherlin Dudu scored a superb header off a Joseph Pereira pass in the dying minutes of the match to take the Goan team into the last four stage.

The encounter saw intense action but ever-alert goalkeepers -- Lui Barretto of Sporting and Sangram Mukherjee of East Bengal -- never let the ball in except for the one occasion by the goalie of the losing side.

Sporting will now meet Mohun Bagan in the semi-final. The other semi-final will be contested between Tollygunge Agragami of Kolkata and Dempo Sports Club of Goa.

Both the semi-finals will be played on December 3 with the final slated for December 5.
