India take winning lead against Japan in Davis Cup February 09, 2003 14:05 IST India took a winning 3-1 lead against Japan in the Asia Oceania Group I Davis Cup tie with Rohan Bopanna defeating Jun Kato in the first reverse singles in New Delhi on Sunday. Bopanna, who had been beaten in the opening singles, defeated Kato 7-6 (7/5), 6-4, 6-4 in one hour and 54 minutes. Leander Paes will take on Gouchi Motomura in the inconsequential last match.
