An Ad (Gasp!) in Cyberspace, read the headline in The New York Times, exactly eight years ago. And a community collectively gasped at the audacity of two immigration lawyers from Arizona, who sent out a mass mailer titled "Green Card Lottery" to thousands of Usenet newsgroups' users, breaking an unwritten code.
