Ajay Srivastava of Dimensions Consulting discusses two sectors, which appear to be in the limelight - FMCG and media. He examines different stocks, which could give good returns, across the sector.

Srivastava discloses that he has invested in Godrej Consumer and Emami.

According to him, Godrej Consumer is one company, which has consistently rewarded the consumers and the investors by the dividends and stock spilt etc. "That's one which has got a lot of traction in the recent past."

"Their margins are one of the best in industry," he adds.

He refers to Emami as the dark horse from Kolkata. "It has come out of the blue and the returns on this stock has been absolutely phenomenal in the last two years; strong growth stories, strong expansion."

Srivastava says that he is more inclined towards the smaller segment players. "The growth percentage that we see in the share price here, is larger than the main lines, atleast in consumer good space," he explains.

Approaching the media space, he says that he has a limited exposure to Adlabs, which he has been holding for a while. "It's a pretty diversified company. It has a strong business plans. Ofcourse the Ambanis are behind it, and I think it has a strong growth story as they are expanding across all segments of the media, whether it is film production, film distribution, exhibitions or processing."

He believes that Adlabs has a strong prospect in the longer run.

Srivastava also likes UTV and TV 18, which is going up. He feels that there is a lot of potential in the media space. "The retail revolution in India is going to ultimately pan out on the television screens, and they are going to see a huge upsurge in earnings."

He believes that Adlabs and TV 18 are the two market leaders. "One would believe that they would do better than the others over a longer term," he says.
