Former finance minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government and a senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Yashwant Sinha has denied that he was joining the Congress party. Sinha spoke to rediff.com from Hazaribagh in Jharkhand, where he was holding series of meetings in his constitutency, after resigning from all party posts on Saturday.
"All sorts of rumours are being spread," Sinha said when asked if he was joining the Congress.
"I have already said in my letter how I felt about it and I have nothing more to add to it," Sinha said. Sinha had in his letter attacked Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj and their promtion to the post of leader of opposition of Rajya Sabha and deputy leader of Lok Sabha. Sinha demanded that the performance of individual leaders should have been assessed before promoting them to positions of responsibility.
In response to a question whether he was pleased that his resignation has been accepted, the former finance minister said, " You have not heard the last word on it. Wait for a few days and things will become clear."
