'Each part of India has something to offer -- the mountains in the north, the sand dunes in the west, the heavenly valleys in the east, the sun, surf and sea in the south...'

With the Paradise on earth and God's own country here, we have the best, in any direction,' says popular television actress Sakshi Tanwar in Rediff.com's series where well-known Indians speak about the India they love.

There is so much about India that is close to your heart. Its rich culture, timeless traditions, its legendary history, multi-dimensional people, the warmth and friendliness, the spirit of the people... And the fact that I am born an Indian!

India is a true example of unity in diversity. Not just with people and cultures, but also with its natural resources.

The mighty Himalayas co-exist with the serene rivers that cut across the country.

Massive expanse of deserts that are bound by the deep seas.

So all forms of natural beauty make India the beauty she is.

Its dialects, food, clothes, culture, everything is so different, yet we are one in our patriotism.

The colourful festivals that are celebrated across the country, by everyone, just shows how we are united despite the diversity.

I am born an Indian, in my identity and my nationality.

I am Indian and I am proud to be an Indian.

Each part of India has something to offer -- the mountains in the north, the sand dunes in the west, the heavenly valleys in the east, the sun, surf and sea in the south...

With the Paradise on earth and God's own country here in India, we have the best, in any direction!

India needs to get rid of its deep-rooted corruption that is corroding the roots of our honesty and integrity.

We need to understand the importance and stress on education for women and children, spreading awareness about health and hygiene, especially among women, and most importantly equality of gender and gender sensitisation.

When I travel abroad, I realise that you get almost everything abroad except the warmth and hospitality that we Indians are known for.

What I miss the most is homemade food, nothing like good Indian food!

Being Indian means everything to me.

It is my identity. I love the people, the energy, and the spirit and want to make my country proud in my own way.
