The twin grenade attacks in the summer capital, which sparked panic, comes at a time when the state government plans to revoke the Armed Forces Special Powers Act from parts of the state.
The police has launched a manhunt to nab the militants and presence of security personnel around the city has been strengthened.

No one was hurt as the grenade did not explode. A bomb disposal squad neutralised the grenade, the sources said adding the area had been cordoned off and a hunt launched to nab the militants.
No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the grenade attacks which come nearly a fortnight after gunmen shot dead a policeman outside Hazratbal shrine on the outskirts of Srinagar.
Constable Sajjad Ahmad was shot in the head by militants while he was on duty on October 14. He succumbed to injuries a day later. Earlier on September 28, militants killed a policeman at crowded Batmaloo bus stand in the city.
