The election for the speaker of the Uttarakhand Assembly will be held on March 12, Assembly Secretary Mahesh Chandra said.
Former Speaker and Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Pithoragarh Prakash Pant was elected as the interim speaker.
Pant took oath as a minister along with Chief Minister B C Khanduri on Thursday.
