Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo used the hashtag #NousSommesUnis, which translates to “we are united,” to announce the iconic Parisian symbol would be lit up Tuesday night in black, yellow and red to pay homage to the people of Belgium.

“In solidarity with the people of Brussels, #Paris illuminate tonight @LaTourEiffel the colors of the Belgian flag. #WeAreUnited,” Hidalgo tweeted earlier Tuesday.
