The email ID of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) handling the messages from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to the media was hacked on Wednesday, prompting the PMO to issue
an advisory that the fake email coming with the subject line "my terrible situation" may be ignored.

The bogus email had a suspect message that prompted some journalists to bring it to the notice of the PMO since it had apparently impersonated the genuine email ID of the PM unit.
